Taking Control

This Christmas the one gift that I really wanted was a Palm Pilot and I got it. I have had a ball playing with the thing and I can't wait to see how much easier it makes my life :)

Every year we all make resolutions and rarely do we see them through. I have made them so many times and they never change: lose weight, get organized, be a better person, etc.

This year I only have one: Take care of the most important thing I have--my faith and physical well-being.

I always begin so well, with a plan and a path and I really do very well...for a while. This time I am determined to stick with my plan, not let others run me in to the ground and not allow myself to undermine my own power and perspective.

Every thing that I have ever accomplished has been through faith, hard work and determination. None of the most important things in my life have ever come easy. I am just not that person...things don't fall in my lap. Everything that I have ever done has been hard and that's ok because I have become a stronger person.

There are areas in my life that are so very regimented and I refuse to let them slide or dip, but in other areas I just am completely out of control.

People who know me professionally know that I am a very effective leader and organizer, but I tend to ignore myself spiritually and physically. I never allow time to really take care of ME.

That is my resolution--I will take care of myself this year in the most important ways. I believe that by resolving to take care of the most important aspects of my life that I will find the other things come much more easily.

What do you resolve?

it's hard to give yourself permission to care for yourself. it is not a selfish act. it is a life saving one.

you count and i am sure that others count on you. caring for yourself is a kindness toward them. be well, sherry

The thing that I resolve the most is to try and take control of my health and lose some weight.Read what I posted.
As far as putting yourself first, that is ALWAYS a must...before you can ever be effective for anyone else, you must learn that you are the most important.Pleasing people is fine , but not until you are pleased with you.
I love you Michael Ann, when you feel weakened, e-mail me, maybe we can help each other to gain proficiency where we need it.

I appreciate the both of you so much. I am so determined not to allow self-sabotage to be my downfall.

Put yourselves first with my permission ;>)

Today was my first day back to work and I have been swamped today...I normally check out the blogs as I eat my breakfast, but didn't get to do that today....

So, I plan on posting a few things tonight on my blog. (I know I've been away for a while.)

Michael - Everyone deserves "me time". You especially deserve to give yourself the attention that you give to your other "lives" (work, home, etc.)

I am back on WW today and Anthony is back on SB. We are trying to get back on track. I'm checking out the local gyms to see which has the best price right now. Gotta get into shape...physically, mentally, and yes...I am with you...spiritually.

I have wanted for many years to learn more about my faith and to learn more about other faiths. I've made it my New Year's Resolution for three years now (this being the third) and this year, I'm doing it. I don't know how, but I'll get it done.

I'll be thinking of you and you know that anytime you wanna chat or need some encouragement, just give me a call!

:) XOXO Jen
